Vendor Onboarding Policy
Gigico Innovations Pvt Ltd · Effective May 2026
Gigico is a multi-vendor marketplace. We connect buyers to sellers across shop, property, motors, jobs, and services — and we handle the technology infrastructure that makes those transactions possible. We don't buy or sell anything ourselves. That means what happens between you and your customers is, legally and practically, your responsibility to manage.
This policy sets out what we expect before you register, what's permitted on the platform, and where the lines are. Read it before you apply.
1. Who Can Sell on Gigico
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering contracts under the Indian Contract Act, 1872. If you're registering on behalf of a business — a proprietorship, partnership, LLP, private limited company & public limited — that entity must be registered under applicable Indian law, and you personally must have authority to bind it.
We review every vendor application. Accounts that don't meet eligibility don't get approved. Existing accounts that fall out of compliance after onboarding are terminated. We reserve the right to make that call without giving advance notice.
2. What We Need at Registration
When you register, you'll be asked for your legal name, business name, registered address, pickup address, KYC of the (business owner) KYC of the Company such as Trade license, MSME, Deed, MOA, AOA and GSTIN if your turnover requires it. We'll also need your bank account (cancelled cheque or passbook) details for settlements and, where applicable, manufacturer, packer, or importer information as required under Indian consumer protection law.
Keep it current. If your bank account changes, your address moves, or your GST registration status shifts, update it in your dashboard. Stale or wrong information held against an active account is grounds for suspension — not a minor admin issue.
3. What You Can and Cannot List
You can list anything that is legal to sell in India, falls within a category Gigico has approved, and meets the regulatory requirements for that product type. FSSAI registration for food products, BIS certification for electronics, drug licenses where the category demands it — if the law requires it, you need to have it before you list.
What you cannot list: counterfeit or knock-off goods, products that infringe on registered trademarks or copyrights, anything obscene or defamatory, goods restricted or banned under Indian law, and anything excluded in our category guidelines published separately. Non-compliant listings are removed without notice. Repeat violations close the account — no warnings issued after the first.
4. Pricing and Inventory
You set your own prices. They must include all applicable taxes — don't display a price that excludes GST and then add it later in the checkout flow. Artificially inflated prices with fictitious discount percentages are prohibited. Consumer protection regulators have taken action against platforms and sellers for exactly this, and we don't want to be part of it.
Your listed inventory count needs to reflect what you actually have on hand. Cancelling orders repeatedly because stock ran dry signals either poor operations or deliberate overbooking — both lead to penalties, and enough of them get the account suspended.
5. Vendor Responsibilities at a Glance
| Area | Vendor's Responsibility |
| Product quality | Authenticity, legality, and accurate description — your call entirely |
| Taxes & invoicing | GST-compliant invoices issued to customers for every transaction |
| Order fulfillment | Ship within committed timelines; pack to survive transit |
| Returns & refunds | Honor the platform's return policy; refund via original payment method |
| Compliance | FSSAI, BIS, drug licenses, and any other applicable regulatory requirement |
| After-sales | Customer queries and complaints handled by you, not us |
6. Orders, Shipping, and Returns
Ship within the timeline you commit to at listing. Pack properly — a product that arrives broken because the box was inadequate is your liability, not ours and not the customer's. If the item the customer receives doesn't match what the listing said, they get a refund. That cost sits with you.
Returns follow the platform's published return policy. Unless we've agreed otherwise in writing, return shipping is your cost. Refunds go back through the original payment method; substituting store credits in place of a monetary refund is only acceptable if the customer specifically requests it.
7. Payments and Settlements
Payments are processed through Gigico's payment system. We are not a bank or a financial institution. After platform fees and applicable tax deductions, settlements go out on the cycle agreed at onboarding.
Holds happen — during open disputes, fraud investigations, chargebacks, or active policy reviews. We notify you when a hold is placed and explain why. Don't expect funds to move while an investigation is open. Once resolved, settlements resume within the published timeframe.
8. Platform Rules
The following get accounts closed immediately: manipulating your own ratings or reviews, submitting fake reviews through alternate accounts, uploading false product information, running multiple vendor accounts to game search rankings, scraping or attempting to reverse-engineer the platform, and any activity that constitutes fraud under Indian law. We monitor for all of these, and the decision to terminate is ours alone.
| Customers can leave public reviews. You can respond — professionally. You cannot incentivise positive reviews or threaten customers who leave negative ones. Accounts caught doing this are terminated and may be reported to relevant consumer bodies. |
9. Data and Privacy
Customer personal data — addresses, contact details, transaction records — that flows through your vendor account must be handled in line with applicable data protection law. It's collected for order fulfillment. Using it for anything else is a breach of this policy and potentially a breach of the law. Don't hold sensitive customer data outside what the platform captures on your behalf.
10. Suspension and Termination
We can suspend or terminate vendor accounts for policy violations, legal non-compliance, unpaid platform dues, or fraud. Some data is retained after termination for audit and legal purposes — closing the account doesn't delete it. If you believe a suspension was applied incorrectly, raise it through our grievance process. We review these; it's not an automated system.
11. Intellectual Property
Platform content, technology, and trademarks belong to Gigico Innovations Pvt Ltd. You retain ownership of the content you upload — product images, descriptions, and listings are yours. By listing on the platform, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to use that content for display, promotion, and operational purposes.
12. Liability
We are not liable for disputes between you and your customers, product defects, delivery failures, or losses arising from your use of the platform. If liability is established against us in any matter, it is capped at the platform fees you paid in the three months preceding the claim.
13. Governing Law
This policy is governed by Indian law. Disputes that can't be resolved through our internal grievance process go to arbitration in Kolkata, under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996.
14. Acceptance
When you click "I Agree" during registration, that click means you've read this, understood it, and agreed to be bound by it — not that you scrolled past it. If anything here isn't clear, reach out before you register rather than after.
